The films are based on the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow and his friend Will Turner who set out on a mission to find and stop Jack's former captain. Part of it is about him trying to find this treasure map for some valuable treasure and one more thing is he has these two rings which he can control time with. The first film, The Curse of the Black Pearl, was released in 2003 and it received mixed reviews from critics. The second film, Dead Man's Chest, was released in 2006 and it received positive reviews. The third film, At World's End, was released in 2007 to more positive reviews. The fourth installment of the series directed by Rob Marshall is set to be released on May 20, 2011. It will be called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Keira Knightley will be reprising her role as Elizabeth Swan who is now married to Will Turner played by Orlando Bloom. They are also expecting a child together. The storyline of the fourth installment will primarily be about Jack's last wish which is to see his son once again. This movie is set to feature the return of the Dead Man's Chest crew including Orlando Bloom, David Wenham, Geoffrey Rush, and Penelope Cruz. Johnny Depp will also be making a cameo appearance in the film. The main antagonist is Captain Salazar who has returned with an army of undead skeletons. The story begins in San Francisco where Elizabeth learns that her husband Will Turner (Bloom) has crossed paths with Jack Sparrow (Depp). After Will encounters Jack, he proclaims that he will protect him until their captain can return to save them. The conversation is interrupted when they discover mermaids who are being threatened by Sparrow. Sparrow then escapes with the help of his new crew which consists of pirate lord Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), the Dutchman's first mate Joshamee Gibbs (Kevin R. McNally), and Calypso (Penelope Cruz). The film will have a sequel, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, set for July 2017.
